12 oz penne pasta (or any short pasta)
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
¾ cup heavy cream
½ cup beef broth
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt & black pepper, to taste
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Add onion and cook 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic.
Add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, then stir in heavy cream and Parmesan until smooth.
Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot.
Notes
Use any short pasta you prefer.
Adjust seasoning to taste.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
