Crispy keto mozzarella sticks, perfect as a low-carb appetizer. These gluten-free cheese sticks are coated with almond flour and pork rind crumbs for a crunchy bite.

Ingredients

  • 10 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream (optional)
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup pork rind crumbs (fine)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Avocado oil or light olive oil (for frying)
  • Chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Sugar-free marinara (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Freeze the mozzarella sticks for 45–60 minutes to prevent blowouts.
  2. Whisk eggs and heavy cream (if using) in Bowl 1.
  3. Mix almond flour, pork rind crumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper in Bowl 2.
  4. Dip each frozen cheese stick in egg, then coat in the crumb mixture. For extra crisp, repeat the coating process.
  5. Freeze coated sticks for 15–20 minutes.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F and fry 2–3 sticks at a time for 60–90 seconds until golden.
  7. Drain on a wire rack, garnish with parsley, and serve with marinara.
  8. For air frying, cook at 400°F for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway.
