Lettuce Wrapped Cheeseburger

A low-carb cheeseburger wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves served with seasoned sweet potato fries.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 large iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 2 tbsp burger sauce or mayo
  • 1 large sweet potato, cut into fries
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for fries)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss sweet potato fries with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook slowly until caramelized, about 12–15 minutes.
  3. Form ground beef into two patties and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook patties in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side. Add cheese during the last minute to melt.
  5. Assemble burgers by layering lettuce, cheeseburger patty, caramelized onions, tomato, and burger sauce.
  6. Wrap tightly with lettuce and serve with sweet potato fries.

Notes

  • Use fresh lettuce leaves for easier wrapping.
  • Adjust seasoning to your taste.
